A Message from the
Head Librarian

So far, we have spent our time learning about fundamental concepts in research design such as measurement, reliability, validity, operational definitions, and types of variables. The remainder of the course will focus on design options, recognizing the elements of the designs, and learning about the uses of each. Your goals this week are to:

  • Identify the purpose of and basic structure of single-case designs.
  • Identify the purpose of and basic structure of within-subject designs.
  • Discuss considerations when investigating issues in low-incidence populations.

About the Midterm Exam:

The midterm will cover the first 5 chapters of the Parson & Brown textbook and course content to date.  The format of the exam is closed-ended (i.e., you must select the correct answer[s] from a list of answer options).

Refer to the dates listed in the elearning system for exam start and end dates and times.   Once you start the exam, you will have only a limited amount of time to submit it.  Refer to the exam instructions in eLearning for specific time restrictions.  Exams submitted after the due date and time OR after the time-limit will receive a score of 0.  If you miss the scheduled time period for the exam, you will receive a score of 0.  There will be no exceptions.

Correct answers will be available through elearning the day after the exam period has ended.
